Public events, such as fairs and the venues that host them, are at risk to a wide spectrum of threats. Planning for a timely and appropriate response to these threats greatly mitigates the level of risk they may pose to your guests, organization, and facility. This course provides an overview of the planning process through an all-hazards perspective. Key components of emergency plans will be taught, and discussions held regarding a sample emergency operations plan that can be used as a template for those just beginning the planning process or those looking to update and refine their current plan. This course will assist venues with developing a plan that is usable, easy to understand and follow, and provides a basis for training staff. A short team-based planning exercise will be included as part of the course and each attendee will receive a book containing comprehensive written training materials that can be used as a reference for future plan development.
